Ischia is a beautiful island, where you can find, in a few square kilometers, the best that a tourist could wish for: a beautiful sea, delightful villages in which to shop, extraordinary views, a mountain that dominates the island and that allows a view of the entire Gulf of Naples, a quality cuisine that goes from the best of seafood cuisine, up to country cuisine, based on vegetables that are grown luxuriantly, a wine that has been appreciated for centuries. And finally thermal waters of great therapeutic efficacy for rheumatic and arthritic diseases, for gynecological problems, are present in specialized spas and in every quality hotel. These waters are due to the vulchnic origin of the island and the area of the Phlegraean fields, of which Ischia is the continuation in the sea.
There are several municipalities on the island, starting with the one that takes its name from the same location: Ischia, with a port that can be accessed for the visit and a castle that is worth the visit, and which dominates the town.
Then there is Casamicciola Terme, a seaside resort with numerous thermal springs. In Lacco Ameno you can visit the interesting sanctuary of Santa Restituta, as well as take a bath on the beautiful bay around which the town is built or, like latrove, enjoy thermal treatments. From Forio you can reach Mount Epomeo, which dominates the entire island with its 788 meters, from which you can enjoy a magnificent panorama. In Barano d'Ischia you are in one of the most enchanting places on the island, with the Maronti beach, a true jewel of beauty and charm.
The wines of Ischia have been famous since Greek and Roman times, starting from the full-bodied red Piedirosso, or Per' 'e Palomm' up to the Biancolella, a white to drink on fish dishes. Wines born with the Greeks who established a colony here as early as the seventh century BC to demonstrate that the charm of the island dates back to ancient times.
