By car from Northern Italy
When you are between Caserta and Naples, go straight on till the exit of the toll booth of Naples, after the toll booth follow the indications A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria/Sorrento Coast and after nearly 20 km, this road will allow you to reach the motorway leaving Naples on your right.
Once you reach the booth for the payment of the toll, whose amount is 2.00 Euros, (be careful not to use the indications viacard or telepass if you don’t have them), go on along the motorway A3 for 18 km, and exit at Castellammare di Stabia (soon after the exit of Pompeii), after the booth turn left, follow the indications to Sorrento (blue signs), after about 2 km access through a slip road of an overpass, by turning left, a viaduct which will take you to the SS145, passing through two tunnels and coasting the street to Sorrento.
By entering the third tunnel you will by-pass the town of Vico Equense, and after almost 6 km, you will reach the village of Meta di Sorrento.
By going on along the main street (Corso Italia), going across Meta di Sorrento, then Piano di Sorrento and then Sant’ Agnello, you will get to Sorrento (once you have passed under the bridge). Go on until the crossroads and turn left onto Via degli Aranci, while keeping your right go along it all until you reach the Hospital. At the crossroads on your right there is the Esso petrol station. Turn right and place yourself as if you were filling up. Go on ahead, at nearly 30 metres turn right again into Via del Mare, go on for 600 metres more and you’ll get to the Hotel del Mare.
ATTENTION: Between Caserta and Naples you will find on your right a detour with a sign with the indication motorway A30. We suggest you not to take this street, you will take longer as it is over 40 km longer than the exit of Castellammare di Stabia.

By car from Southern Italy

By Train:
Take the bus or taxi to the main railway station in Piazza Garibaldi and follow the directions detailed below. From Naples Central (Piazza Garibaldi) Railway Station
If you travelling by rail, the easiest way to get to Sorrento is to take the Circumvesuviana train from Naples Central (Piazza Garibaldi) Railway Station. The journey takes just over one hour.
Trains run every half an hour from 06.00 to 22.00 and tickets cost about € 6. Sorrento is last stop. When you come out of the station, walk down to Corso Italia and turn left: walk all the way down Corso Italia, passing Piazza Tasso, until you come to the Hospital (600 mts), a small flight of stairs lead on to Via del Mare, and a short walk down (300 mts) will take you to the Hotel. It will take about 15/20 minutes on foot.
You might consider taking the D line bus to Marina Grande (tickets cost € 2,20). The bus stop is in Corso Italia (opposite Piazza Lauro, on your right as you come out of the station). Tickets must be purchased prior to boarding and are on sale at the newsagent's or tobacconist's inside the station.
If you do not feel too energetic, alternatively, you can take a taxi (typical minimum charge € 20)
By Hydrofoil:
A pleasant ride by hydrofoil from Naples Beverello quay takes you to Sorrento in about 35 minutes. Departures are every two hours.
Hydrofoils run between Molo (Pier) Beverello (the ferry/hydrofoil terminal in Naples just opposite the Maschio Angioino castle) and the port of Marina Piccola in Sorrento. When you arrive at the port, take the orange bus to Piazza Tasso and then transfer to a line D bus to Marina Grande (tickets must be purchased prior to boarding and are on sale at the newsagent's/tobacconist's at the port).
